Obituary for Frank Jaramillo
Frank Jaramillo, age 76, a resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Frank retired from Sandia National Laboratories over 20 years ago and was able to fully take advantage of retirement. He loved to travel, and especially loved being able to explore the world by means of cruise ships. It was a great joy to experience his last cruise to Alaska with his family. Frank was an avid sports fan that started early when his two sons became involved in all sports. He loved attending Belen High School football games, always sitting in the exact place, every game. As season ticket holders for both UNM football and basketball, he and Toni attended almost every home game. The Pittsburgh Steelers was his NFL football team. Recently, after a lifelong dream, he had the opportunity to travel to Pittsburg and see a live game.
Frank and Toni loved their church. They were past Padrinos of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and Our Lady of Belen 2007 Fiesta Parade Marshalls. He served as head usher for over 40 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as treasurer. He earned the rank of 4th degree Knight. Frank never missed the opportunity to keep his yard tidy and neat. He loved yardwork and always kept himself busy. He never missed his chance to meet with his Sandia retirement buddies for breakfast once a month. Frank’s greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren. He loved them and they loved him equally back.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Crecencio and Gregorita Jaramillo; mother in law, Margaret Lucero; brothers, Ruperto and Leo Jaramillo; and sisters, Erlinda and Gloria.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Toni; his sons, Patrick and wife Gina, Chris and wife Denise; grandchildren, Yvette and fiancé Nathan, Eric and wife Rocio, Donna and fiancé Kevin, Andre and Jordan; great grandchildren, Alyssa and Valery. He is also survived by his brother Erineo Jaramillo; brother in law, Willy Lucero; sister in law, Ruth Lucero; and many loving nephews and nieces.
