Obituary for Ila Kirby (Dalton)

Ila Kirby (Dalton)
Ila Mae Kirby (Dalton), age 92, a resident of Belen, NM, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 19, 2017. She was born on July 24, 1925. Ila and her late husband of 76 years, Richard Ray Kirby, were missionaries to Kenya, Africa, where they helped with training pastors and church planting. They also did evangelism in rural areas of Kenya which led to building churches together with those they trained. They recalled those days often and shared stories of Africa with their grandchildren mentioning by name all those dear friends they missed so much. Africa was always in their heart. They came back to the States in the early 70’s. After much prayer they settled in Belen, NM, and pastored The Word of Faith Church in Belen for many years, touching lives in the community and raising and training grandchildren and great grandchildren the Word of the Lord, who are all so thankful for their raising them to know Jesus Christ and His love for them.
Ila was preceded in death by her father, Jesse James Dalton; her mother, Bessie Lee Dalton (Stroud); her late husband, Richard Ray Kirby; youngest son, Bradford Gene Kirby; son-in-law, Peter Nelson Lesley Ward.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald Kirby and Stanley Kirby; her daughters, Myra Ward and Susan Kirby; Daughter-in-laws, Gwendolyn and Pam Kirby; grandchildren, Charles, Cheryl, Bobby, Randy, Corey, Peter, Natasha, Tony, Sonny, Nicholas, Priscilla, Michael, Jeannie, Michele, and Shaunna; Great grandchildren, Robert, Kimberly, Josh, Miranda, Denver, Dylan, Jimi, Farah, Amy, Micah, Esther, Luke, Jeremiah, Dominic, Kelsey, Christina, Carlos, Joseph, Desjia, Noelle, Maddie, Rylie, Isabella, Layla, Elizabeth, Jayden, Gabe, Jeremiah, Faith, Malachi, and Sarah.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. Reinken Ave., (505)864-4448
