Gerard A. Malizia, age 78, a resident of Valencia County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was a stubborn man who liked doing things his way. Gerard had a free spirit and enjoyed driving from state to state and spending time outdoors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and buying them goodies. Gerard will always be known as “Old Grumpy” even though he had a sense of humor. Gerard always wanted to go search for Forrest Finns treasure, he never had the chance but now he has found the biggest treasure in Heaven. We will miss you Old Grumpy. Gerard is preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Malizia; mother, Francis Decker Nolan; and Grandson, Charles Dalton Malizia.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Josephine Malizia; children, Theresa Malizia Zuni, Anna and husband, Milo, Shawn and Charlie Malizia, and Anthony and wife, Amanda Malizia; sisters,Patricia and Rosalie; 14 grandchildren, Brittanie Perea (Marcos), Crystal Valdez, Shadi Sangre, Selene Zuni, Armando Malizia, Joslyn Malizia, Caitlin Malizia, Jason Malizia, Anissa, Ambria, Azalia Malizia, and Sebastian and Giana Jaramillo; and 9 great-grandchildren. All services will be held at Noblin Funeral Service Los Lunas Chapel, on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.
