Marjorie Sanders, age 100, and a resident of Rio Communities, New Mexico, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sanders, and her son-in-law, Jerry Trout. She is survived by her only child, Jean Trout, and her two
beautiful granddaughters, Stephanie Torrez (José Torrez) and Julia Johns (Roger Johns). She is also survived by her two great-grandsons, Rey Torrez and
Tomás Torrez, who were the "apple of her eye." Marjorie has a wonderful family of nieces and nephews in California who came to help her celebrate her 100th birthday.
During World War II, Marjorie worked for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph. After the war, she and Henry moved to New Mexico and farmed. Marjorie made a
big adjustment from city life to a farm with no electricity. She learned to love growing vegetables, canning, sewing, and raising chickens.
Throughout Marjorie's life, she enjoyed the arts. She played viola in a symphony orchestra, and later in life, took art lessons and was a quite accomplished painter.
Marjorie had a strong faith in God and attended church wherever she lived.
