Beatrice Beck, age 93, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, June 4th, 2020. She was a member of The West Gate Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ for the church. Beatrice was an amazing musician who played by ear and played the accordion in “The Green Valley Boy’s” band. Beatrice worked for many years at the University of Albuquerque and then at Fruit Avenue Baptist church where she worked well beyond her retirement. Beatrice was patient, resilient, loyal, and loved her family completely with her entire being. Beatrice was the best grandma in the world. Beatrice was the iconic mother, grandmother, and friend. Beatrice loved going to Walmart, The Dollar Store, eating New Mexican food, especially sopaipilla’s. Beatrice and her daughter Maryanne were shopping buddies and more than just mother and daughter, they were also friends. Beatrice’s Pot Pie noodles were the most sought-after dish at Thanksgiving dinners. Samuel Bea’s grandson, has fond memories of his nightly goodnights with grandma Bea to which he would tell her goodnight and he loved her, to which grandma would reply with saying “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck bet your little boots I do” So Mom/Grandma we all love you, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck bet your little boots we do until we meet again. She is preceded in death by her son, Timmie Hill; grandson, Jeremy Taylor; siblings, Laurel, Milford, and Richard, and her parents, Truman and Eunice Stone Burner. She is survived by her son, Ken Taylor and his wife, Kathy; daughter, MaryAnne Benefield and her husband, Joe; grandchildren, Kelly, Jamie, Leslie, Ryan; great grandchildren, Eowyn, Ashley, Tori, Sierra, Samuel, Tobie, Andrew, Matthew, and her great-great grandchildren, Serenity and Kai. A private family viewing will be held followed by graveside service at Sandia Memory Gardens (San Pedro) Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. The pallbearers will be Ken Taylor, Ryan Benefield, Joe Benefield, Samuel Benefield, Jamie Benefield, Andrew Rodden, Matthew Rodden.
