Ruth L Auge, age 97, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 after a short illness. She was born in Hale County, Texas and moved to Elida NM where she began her teaching career. Ruth later moved to Los Lunas to become a Home Economics teacher. Her next move was to Belen where she taught Home Economics at Belen Junior High until her retirement. Ruth was most proud of her 40 years of teaching. After her retirement, Ruth and her husband, Lee travelled the world extensively visiting all continents except Antarctica. Most of all, they enjoyed playing golf together wherever they could, especially in Ruidoso and in Phoenix, she even scored a hole in one. Ruth's life revolved around her family and the family business, Auge Sales & Service. She was often seen in the showroom at Auge's, greeting customers and visiting with old and new friends. Many friends would leave with a smile and a tatted bracelet. Ruth was a charter member of the Belen Methodist Church in 1947, where she faithfully attended. She was also a member of the Belen Historical Society, Chuckwagon Cowbells, and Stitcher's Club. Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Lee Auge in 2015; and brothers, Sydney and Travis Lutrick.
