Ray Nathan Lakies, age 31, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019. He was a kind and gentle soul. Everyone that knew him would say he was a great and compassionate friend. Ray loved animals and nature and was happiest when fishing or going rafting down rivers in Colorado. He was a beloved son and husband and taught people how to love and be respectful. Ray also had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with people. It
brought him great joy to see people laugh and smile. Ray loved talking to strangers and getting to know people. He loved his dogs and rescued two of his dogs from abusive and neglectful homes. Ray had such a kind spirit and was always in a good mood. He was the sunshine in his family and friend's lives. Ray had such a beautiful soul. He never got the chance to have children and really looked forward to having a child one day. Ray always dreamed of being a father. We know that he would have been the best father a child could have. Towards the end of his life he developed an illness that robbed him of his strength, vision, hearing, and abilities. Even though he was sad some days, he always kept a positive attitude about his life and made future plans even though he knew he might not live too long. Ray had the strength of several people to have gone through this illness with such courage and tenacity. He will be missed by everyone who met him. Ray was such a bright and uplifting man that brought joy to everyone he encountered. He will be deeply missed and always loved by his wife, mother, family and friends. All services will be held at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel on Saturday, October 12, 2019. A Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
