When I started to work at the Front Desk in 2007, Marcus impressed me with his polite manner. He treated everyone with respect. As I got to know him better I learned that he had a great sense of humor, too. I used to kid him about his incredible voice: “What are you doing working here? With that voice you should be in broadcasting!” and he would always laugh.
But clearly he DID belong at the Village. He was the consummate professional. He brightened our day anytime he came through City Hall.
I can’t believe I will never hear that million dollar voice or get that friendly fist bump again.
He will be sorely missed.

My name is Jim Blasing. I worked with Marcus in the Village Los Lunas for 2 1/2 years. Marcus and I had something more in common that just work associates; we shared the miracles of sobriety. Marcus turned the Los Lunas Solid Waste Department around with his style of management, efforts and knowledge that resulted in positive recognition from those in the industry. Marcus developed the Village recycle plan previously non-existent into a top notch operation with his leadership.
My wife and I are saddened beyond words and we pray for his family and the Village of Los Lunas.
