Pablo Valdez, age 64, a Native New Mexican, and resident of Santa Fe, returned to the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2020. Pablo was a loved member of the community and his large family. He served the poor helping satisfy the hungry through St. Martin de Porres Food Bank in Santa Fe. Pablo protected the Santa Fe National Forest and the community as a Carson Hot Shot firefighter and tank operator. He was a loving foster father for many children including the LBGTQ community. Pablo worked tirelessly for children in Northern New Mexico working with his beloved son, “Paul S. Valdez” AKA Marie Antoinette Du Barry through the Santa Fe Fire Department Toy Drive. He was a man of deep faith who taught Sunday school at Guadalupe Catholic Church for many years and Pablo will be greatly missed by his students. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adelina and Octaviano Valdez; siblings, Josie, Carmelita, Rosalita, and Billy; and his father and mother in law, Steve and Eva Griego whom he cared for many years. Pablo is survived by Anna his beloved spouse; son, Paul and husband, Richard Polley; siblings, Sharon and Michael, Beatrice and Roland, Isabella Michael, Anna Rose and Dougles, Angela, Alfonso and Jenny, Anthony, and Herbert and Bernie. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Church in Vadito, NM. A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m., with A Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, January 24, 2020, at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church. A Funeral Banquet will follow the Celebration.
