On Saturday, January 18, 2020, Nannette A. Martinez passed away too soon, at the age of 56, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on October 28, 1963. She had since then become a long-time resident of Los Lunas, NM. Nannette was a strong, honest, free-thinking and God-fearing woman, who always questioned what she was told and who always told it like it was. She lived life to the fullest, even after experiencing the tragic loss of her son and only child, Nash. After her son's passing, she frequently said that it was her faith, her grandchildren and her pets who gave her the strength to keep ongoing. Throughout her life, Nannette was an extreme lover of nature and wildlife. At one point she cared for over 30 animals, all of whom were very well taken care of and could even be considered spoiled. Nannette also loved spending time with family and friends, riding her Harley, singing, dancing, listening to music and painting. There is so much to be said about Nannette that it is almost impossible to effectively summarize the remarkable woman that she was. She was one of a kind and unforgettable. We will continue to love her to infinity and beyond and will miss her until the day that we are reunited. Rest in peace Nannette. Nannette was preceded in death by her son, Nash B. Martinez; father of her son, Benjamin Aragon; father and mother, Modesto and Natividad Martinez; sisters, Beatrice Martinez and Anna Barela; brother, Daniel Martinez, and niece, Perlinda Martinez. She was survived by her two grandchildren, who she loved more than anything on this Earth, Laius and Evangeline Martinez; daughter in law, Sara Montoya; sister, Perlinda Martinez; many nieces; nephews; cousins; friends and several beloved pets. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Church 101-A N 10th St, Belen, NM 87002. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Los Lunas Chapel, 2211-D Main St., (505) 866-9992.
