Darlene J. Ostroski, age 72, a resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020. She as a member of First Baptist Church of Los Lunas. Darlene worked for the Air Force as a civilian for nearly 30 years on Osan Air Force Base in South Korea and Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM. She loved taking quilting classes and making quilts for family. She enjoyed going to various events at her church and various events in Albuquerque such as the Balloon Fiesta, Quilting Fairs, and the Coffee and Chocolate Festival. She loved musicals and had the good fortune to attend showings of the King and I And CATS at Popejoy Hall in Albuquerque. She loved hearing from her daughter Billie and Son-in-law Jarrod stationed in England and seeing the videos/pictures of their travels and she loved hearing from her son Stan and daughter-in-law Jillian living in Kansas City, MO whether by phone or online. She enjoyed going places with her husband, William, and daughter Elizabeth, who lived with her in Los Lunas, NM. She loved seeing snow in winter and plants starting to grow and flower in spring. Her favorite flowers were roses, all colors; but her favorite scent was lavender. Her favorite football team was the Kansas City Chiefs and she was able to watch them on TV win the Super Bowl in February 2020. Her favorite baseball team was the Kansas City Royals and she was able to watch them on TV win the World Series in 2015. Darlene is preceded in death by her father, Robert Eugene Windsor Sr.; mother, Jean Audrey Windsor (Eldridge); uncle, Edward Windsor; aunt, Orletha Windsor; grandmother Elizabeth Windsor Phelps and Grandfather Vear Phelps. She is survived by her husband, William; daughters, Elizabeth Ostroski and Billie Ebner; son-in-law, Jarrod Ebner; son, Stan Ostroski; daughter-in-law, Jillian Ostroski; 3 granddaughters; 6 grandsons; 2 great-grandsons; brothers, Robert and Richard Windsor; sister, Elizabeth Rinderknecht, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be planned for mid-June to take place at the First Baptist Church of Los Lunas, NM. Cremated remains will be transported in mid to late June to Washington State to be interred with her father and Uncle, both Navy Veterans.
